10‑Day Warranty
Most of our horses come with a 10‑day warranty. If the horse isn’t the right fit, you may return it within that window.
- A 10% deposit/restocking fee and any shipping costs are non‑refundable.
- You’ll receive the remaining balance back.
- Ask us for full details when purchasing.
Deposits
- We do not hold horses without a deposit.
- While you decide, a horse may sell. We’ll gladly help you find another fit—but “first in line” isn’t guaranteed without payment.
Payment Options — C&K Stables LLC
We keep payments simple, secure, and flexible. Current options:
Credit or Debit Cards
- Pay via secure online invoice or we can process your card for you.
- 3% service fee applies to all card transactions.
PayPal (Friends & Family)
- Use Friends & Family only.
- If you choose Goods & Services, please cover PayPal fees.
- Generally no daily limits for full payments.
Venmo (Friends & Family)
- Accepted via Friends & Family only.
- Typical daily max up to $4,999 (varies by account).
Cash App
Accepted; daily limits may apply based on your account.
Zelle
Welcome to use; check your bank’s daily/weekly send limits.
Bank Wire Transfer
- Traditional transfers are fine—we’ll request a deposit while you complete the wire.
Cash
- Always accepted in person.
- For local deliveries, we may accept a deposit + cash on delivery.
Checks
- Accepted only if the horse remains on‑site until the check clears.
- We cannot hold a horse while waiting for a check to arrive by mail.
- Overnight with deposit can be discussed.
Showings & Scheduling
- We’re typically booking about one week out. Please plan ahead.
- No‑shows or cancellations within 4 hours of your appointment incur a $50 fee.
- Please leave early and allow for traffic so you arrive on time.
Saturday Appointments
- $75 for the first hour; $50 per additional hour.
- Fee is waived if you purchase a horse.
- We love showing horses—but everyone needs a day off, too!
No Sunday Appointments
We’re closed Sundays. Exception: if a non‑refundable deposit has been placed and Sunday is the only possible option.
Decision Time
- If you choose to “think about it,” the horse will remain for sale.
- If you’re uncertain, it might not be the right fit—bring your trainer to the showing to help decide.
Vet Checks & Health
Most horses are up to date on:
- Veterinary health check
- Coggins
- Shots
- Farrier work
- Dental care
Pre‑purchase exams (PPEs) are encouraged at the buyer’s expense.
Mares
Mares carry their foals for approximately 11 months. Because our program typically lasts 4–6 months, we cannot guarantee whether a mare is in foal at the time of purchase.
If you do not want a foal, we strongly recommend scheduling a veterinary pregnancy check prior to purchase.
Once the mare leaves our property, C&K Stables LLC is not responsible for any pregnancies discovered afterward.
Shipping
We offer nationwide and international shipping—including California and Canada.
- Long hauls average $1.00–$1.50 per mile.
- Short hauls vary; we’ll work to find you the best price.
- Rates factor in tolls, fuel, wear & tear, and driver time.
New Location Notice
As of August 1, 2024, we relocated from Thurmont, Maryland to Somerset, Pennsylvania to be closer to friends & family. All animals are now located in Somerset unless otherwise noted.
Important Notes
- Deposits are non‑refundable.
- If we agree to hold a horse, a 10% non‑refundable deposit applies (up to 5 days).
- Boarding fees apply after one week (based on stall size and duration).
- Any known health issues are disclosed before purchase.
- PPEs are done at the time of purchase — the 10‑day warranty is for trying the horse, not for vetting.
