The C&K Stables Difference — Why Our Buyers Come Back
You can buy a horse in a variety of places. What makes C&K Stables in Somerset, Pennsylvania, different? We’ve been in business for 13 years and have more than 500 pleased clients. We’ve been asked this question many times, and the responses come from the people who have worked with us.
We are truthful. Always.
When it comes to being open and honest, the horse industry has a bad name. Horses that were misrepresented—sold as safe for beginners when they weren’t, or as sound when they had problems—have hurt too many buyers. We run our whole business at C&K Stables by doing the opposite.
We tell the truth about every horse, both the good and the bad. We will tell you if a horse is better for an experienced rider, even if it means not selling it. We’ll let you know if a horse has a quirk that you should know about. We don’t want to just make a match; we want to make the right one.
We Pick Each Horse by Hand
We don’t buy horses at an auction and then sell them a week later. We carefully choose each horse that comes to C&K Stables. We want horses that are calm, trainable, and friendly with people. These are the kinds of horses that could make great partners. We then put them through our long training and evaluation programs to make sure they are safe, sound, and ready.
We carefully look at everything.
We look at the following before putting a horse up for sale:
- Temperament — how they act when they meet new people, deal with new situations, and are handled every day
- Soundness — we look for horses that are in good health and don’t have any major problems
- Ground manners — is it safe to lead, groom, and work with them?
- Rideability — how do they act when different types of riders are on them?
- Versatility — what are they good at, and what might not be right for them?
This whole review is what lets us pair buyers with horses we know will be good for them.
We Pay Attention to Our Customers
There is no one type of buyer who comes to us. A elderly couple seeking for a trail horse has quite different wants than a family with kids who want a horse they can ride. Before we ever offer a horse, we ask you questions, listen to your responses, and make sure we understand what you want.
This is why we don’t have a plan that works for everyone. We don’t want to sell you a horse; we want to help you locate yours.
We Believe in What We Sell
Our 10-day money-back guarantee isn’t just a way to get people to buy from us; it’s a sign of how sure we are about every horse we sell. You can return the horse within 10 days of buying it if it doesn’t work out for whatever reason. We want you to feel pleased about this match too, and this is how we show it.
We’re Here After You Buy
When you acquire a horse from C&K Stables, you’re not just getting a horse; you’re also getting a team that will help you. We’re always here to help you with any problems you might have, answer your questions, and provide you advise. We don’t stop working with our customers after the sale.
